Geanene founded Sela lo Sea in 2006 as an outlet for her passion for creating
quality "one-off" jewellery pieces. Sela lo Sea is fast growing and Geanene
has gained a reputation for producing stylish, exotic pieces that never fail
to make an impression.
There is nothing mass produced about the jewellery at Sela lo Sea. Each item is created by Geanene with patience and attention to detail, resulting in beautiful, individual pieces, that remind you of endless summer days at the beach.
The distinctive designs of Sela lo Sea jewellery were inspired by Geanene’s late father, Iain Gower, who lived at Marau Sound, Solomon Islands. Iain started the family passion for creating jewellery and giftware that is influenced by the Solomon’s culture and customs.
Iain was one of the first people to scuba dive in the Solomon Islands and for many years was involved in the specimen shell trade, gaining a world wide reputation as a reliable supplier of rare shells to collectors and a love of shells.
Iain passed on his love of shells and natural products, and some of his unique jewellery designs to his daughter Geanene, who has continued the tradition by creating her own “one off” designs and has developed her own passion for jewellery design.
Based in Brisbane, Geanene is constantly working on new designs, so keep an eye on the website as we add more unique items.
